Several years ago we had such a guide while touring the Cave Of The Winds in Colorado. He was a college student working summers there. He kept us all entertained with his lively banter and jokes. The best came when he showed us a small depression in a rock by the wall of the cave. It was about 12 to 14 inches across and filled with crystal clear water and looked to be about four or five inches deep. He said "See how clear this water is, it's so clear you can see all the way to the bottom. Would you believe it is almost six feet deep?" A woman closest to the pool leaned forward and excitedly remarked, "Is it really? It sure doesn't look that deep." The guide replied. "Well, it isn't. I just asked if you would believe it."
