Mystic Caverns for Sale
November 12, 2008
John D. sent us a news story about an attempt to sell Mystic Caverns, Marble Falls, Arkansas, on eBay by its owner, Steve Rush. Rush has been running tours through the 2-cave combo attraction — Mystic Cave and Crystal Dome — since 1992. Attendance has trailed off, and Rush plans to move on to devote more time to Christian ministries.
Mystic Caverns seems unique to us in its association with Steve’s religious beliefs, so it may have been a good tour to get into a discussion about evolution, or the age of the cave. He seems affable enough though, with statements such as this on the cave’s web site: “I hope that you will come to tour Mystic and Crystal Dome Cavern, but it is far more important that you come to know The Savior, Jesus Christ, because then you can take the Ultimate Tour - ETERNITY WITH JESUS IN HEAVEN!”
At last check, Rush was asking for $900k for the property, including 3 caves (one undeveloped and too dangerous for tours) and a gift shop.
