Branson broke the ice, in a way, on the effectiveness of placing an oversized thing in a town where it has no context (the Titanic has nothing to do with country music or hillbilly theater). Wisconsin Dells has taken the plunge as well, with its black hole-mangled White House.
Titanic II also appears as if it came out of the rip in time/space, only the black hole closed at just the point where the portion of the ship visible is viable as a business charging admission.
Titanic II will offer the same popular thrills found at Titanic I: visitor tickets are “boarding passes” with the name of real Titanic passengers who either survive or don’t. The experience also includes touching an iceberg, sitting in a life boat, steering the ship, and sending an SOS message.
I have visited the Titanic exhibit in Branson and was absolutely amazed. It is an hour and half self-guided tour but it became so touching I had to leave after an hour. It is very well done with their grand staircase, memorbilia and guides dressed in period attire to discuss with visitors passing through. I’m glad we’re getting one closer to home and will plan on bringing groups to tour your exhibit.
