 Quirky Tourist Attractions in or near TexasWhile in Texas, you might enjoy a visit to: Cave exposed in 1960s roadwork features formations such as the "Lake of the Moon," and the "Flowing Stone of Time." Motel with rooms inside Indian teepee-shaped buildings -- restored and opened in late 2006. About 100 concrete hippos are scattered throughout this community, including a large one in front of the high school. Apparently an escaped circus hippo in the early 20th century created quite a stir here. My favorite was a pair of hippos, with the girl in a yellow bikini. |
