The Sugarite Canyon Park offers a variety of activities from hiking, biking, cross country skiing, fishing, and ice fishing in the winter for lake trout at Lake Maloya. Walk the rim of the Capulin Volcano National Monument or take a tour down into the volcano. View the Sierra Grande, the largest mountain in the US. Join us for the Santa Fe Trail Balloon Rally for the 4th of July. It is a small but colorful rally for Hot Air Balloons. Just a short drive will take you to the NRA Whittington Center a must for the experienced or novice shooter. It is a comprehensive recreational and educational shooting facility.
