King's Pointe Waterpark Resort King's Pointe Resort in Storm Lake, Iowa opened August 2007. The resort is located right on the shores of Storm Lake, a 3,200 acre natural lake in northwest Iowa. King's Pointe is part of a $39 million Project AWAYSIS by the city of Storm Lake. Project AWAYSIS intends to transform the shores of Storm Lake into a tourist destination. King's Pointe Resort offers 70,000 square feet of outdoor and indoor family waterparks, featuring thrilling waterslides, lazy river and plenty of chances for year round waterpark fun. The Discovery Plunge - an enclosed raft ride with virtual reality fun packed into a 420-foot descent! The slide features technology that allows riders to experience one of 8 different virtual reality action themes such as sea creatures, storms, hot air balloon rides, and sharks. Riders select their "adventure" from a touch screen at the top of the slide tower, and then experience this adventure on the descent - complete with sights and sounds! This technology is the first of its kind for Iowa waterparks. This same technology powers the Electric Eel slide in our indoor waterpark. King's Pointe Resort offers a variety of guest rooms to suit your needs. Lakeside rooms with balconies and patios allow views of beautiful Storm Lake, and shore-level rooms are just steps from the water. We also offer a variety of family suites with king or double queen beds and suites with two bedrooms.
