The 1-story brick structure looks nothing like its successful progeny. Our personal, must-see exhibit at the Museum of World Treasures, although they display a lot of other interesting items, including a shrunken head and a please-touch slab of the Berlin Wall. Second only to The Smithsonian in space artifacts, and it's in a suburban neighborhood in Kansas. See Cosmonaut cast-offs, Nazi ballistics, and American moon diapers. The Madonna of the Trail is an 18-ft. tall sculpture of a stony-faced pioneer Mom, in long skirt and bonnet, strutting westward with an infant in her arms. They were installed in 1928-29. |
