They were made here. Wallingford takes pride in its statue of little scrapper with the dribbling boot, one of a number of identical fountain sculptures of mysterious origin around the U.S. and elsewhere. Opened by Carlton and Edna Nash in 1939. They're gone, but son Kornell keeps this place going, and he's expanded the dinosaur track quarry! Bronze sculptures of Dr. Seuss and some of his memorable characters cavort next to a giant book. |
