Coal veins burning since 1961, almost all the buildings and people are gone. Unsafe ground, noxious gases -- be careful. A nice restaurant, but we visit mainly for the disturbing statue. The original chocolate factory tour is long gone, replaced by an automated ride, mega-gift store, and a pervasive, consumer overload experience of candied goodness. |
