The world's oldest traffic light -- which still works, and which looks like a streamlined silver football -- is on display in the town museum. Paul Johnson collected 3,479 pencil sharpeners (no duplicates) and displayed them in a one-room building in his yard in Carbon Hill. He died July 2010; the building and collection are now displayed in the Hocking Hills Regional Welcome Center.
