DID YOU KNOW?.....Algona, this little town in North Central Iowa, is home to the legendary Algona POW camp. This World War II camp housed German and Italian prisoners from 1944 to 1946. The unique museum features artifacts and information relating to the American military personnel and German prisoners brought together by the war. The Super 8 of Algona is conveniently located at the junction of highways 169 and 18, just one mile South from the famed POW camp.
