The Days Inn - Sidney is an ideal location to launch your expedition to the many historical attractions throughout Western Nebraska including Chimney Rock, Scotts Bluff National Monument, Fort Sidney Museum & Post Commander's Home or a day trip along Hwy 385 and the Scenic Gold Rush Byway. With easy access from the Days Inn, numerous recreational opportunities exist in the Sidney area. You can play golf at Hillside Municipal 18 Hole Golf Course, get in your daily workout at the Cheyenne County Community Center featuring indoor sports and exercise equipment, walk along the paved walking trail throughout the city or test your marksmanship at the Sidney Shooting Park.  Quirky Tourist Attractions in or near NebraskaWhile in Nebraska, you might enjoy a visit to: Military might, along with a replica of a hasty retreat from Saigon, draws passersby off the interstate. The Hastings Museum displays important Kool-Aid historical artifacts, including the bulbous Kool-Aid Man suit. Kool-Aid Man's footprints, originally marking the sidewalk at Hollywood Walk of Fame at Mann's Chinese Theatre, have been retired to Hastings. It used to be a gas station; now its wheels are missing but it still looks like a giant covered wagon. Part of a failed motel and campground; who wouldn't want to sleep in a wood teepee? For 50 years the Kenfield brothers have made sculptures and pictures out of petrified wood, now on display in a museum in town. Built by a man from 1975 who vowed not to be forgotten. If it was one guy pinned by an arrow, we wouldn't even bother you about it. But two guys... and brothers? That's something deserving a monument. |
