Wendover's Muffler Man vexed us for several years, as reports trickled in that he was in Wendover in Nevada, then Wendover in Utah, then moving back and forth. Since we hadn't visited in person, we were somewhat at the mercy of travelers in shock from the sight and not paying attention to the subtle demarcation between states a few blocks away.

He is firmly attached in Utah, currently promoting a pawn shop.

For a time he was painted to look like a "Rodeo Clown," with make-up and polka dot shirt. Recently, the clown has been reported as a more standard cowboy, in black shirt and hat.

We like where he's situated now, juxtaposed with signs for the pawn shop ("Cash Anytime for Gold - Diamonds - Silver - Guns"...), Hard Ice Cream, and a "Hair Collection" Business.
