A new entry in the "eatertainment" category, Holoworld, opened on September 18th in Pasadena, California. The ribbon cutting for this "multi-themed restaurant-entertainment complex" was reportedly attended by numerous celebrities, including Star Trek's Nichelle "Uhura" Nichols, Kato Kaelin, Gary Coleman and Dan "Grizzly Adams" Haggerty .
This "futuristic Family feast & fun" center includes a Jungle Room, an Indian Village, and a Space Alien Room. Also, an Old West Saloon (serving only nonalcoholic beverages), and Surfer and Fairy Tale party rooms. Designed and executed by top Hollywood special effects companies, Holoworld's games include: Cosmic Underwater Pool; Cosmic Golf; and the prehistoric-themed Laser Tag Maze; plus the latest COBRA virtual reality games and M-4 Flight Simulator.
The interiors are designed in a foreboding "black light" motif. Holoworld is at 620 N. Lake Ave., Pasadena. [09/20/1997]
