To mark the second anniversary of the crash of TWA Flight 800, the TWA Flight 800 Association announced plans to erect a permanent memorial to the victims at the Long Island, NY, beach closest to the crash site.
TWA, for its part, is continuing a corporate refurbishment, including new color schemes and a fleet that will be 40 percent new by the end of 1999. TWA's daily New York-Paris trip is now called Flight 924. [07/19/1998]
