Supporters of the Homestead House Museum are trying to save what was once the fanciest brothel in Cripple Creek, CO. The adjacent Jubilee Casino owns the building and hopes to auction off its period furnishings. The Casino has given museum supporters until May to raise $250,000 to preserve it. The building was built and owned by Pearl DeVere in the 1800s as a red light district brothel on Myers Avenue. When she died in 1896, Devere had Colorado's biggest funeral -- at least that's what they tell you on the tour. Visitors can take the museum tour from May to October.
