Sports announcer statue holds beer cans

Tourism News

According to an AP report, fans at Chicago's Wrigley Field have been honoring dead announcer Harry Caray by jamming beer cans into the outstretched hand of his bronze statue. Caray died last year; the 7-foot statue has been receiving alcoholic tributes since opening day. Purists insist the beverage must always be a Bud -- Caray had been their spokesman since 1954.
