The Shoe House in Bakersfield, CA is for sale. Remnants of Deschwanden's Shoe Repair, the last business that inhabited the shoe nearly a decade ago, can still be spied through the windows. The Deschwanden family is selling the shoe at Chester Avenue and 10th Street, and two adjacent homes. The shoe has been a Bakersfield fixture since it first appeared in 1947 (same year as the first flying saucer sightings over the US!). It is 20 feet tall and 30 feet long. The price?
