The famous Dumas Brothel, Butte, Montana, with its underground passages and overactive ghosts, has recently been up on the auction block at E-Bay. The asking price was $75,000.
The Dumas was designed and built as a brothel in 1890 and continued until its closure in 1982, making it America's longest running house of prostitution. Since then, it has been run as a museum, gift shop and Old Tyme Photo studio, especially popular during the Sturgis biker migrations each year.
Stay tuned for news on the fate of this national treasure. [05/13/2001]
