The newly remodeled Liberace Museum, a shrine to Las Vegas taste and to the man who embodied it, has opened. Its rhinestone-encrusted ribbon was cut by Siegfried and Roy, who arrived in Liberace's pink Rolls Royce convertible. Liberace died 15 years ago, but owned so much stuff that his museum can continue to amaze fans with new exhibits for decades to come. While collection favorites disappear for a time, like the Liberace a fan made from bread dough, or the day glo Libbo mannequin heads, they are replaced by equally flamboyant displays.
An oversized neon pink piano and a giant rendition of the Liberace's flamboyant signature now grace the entrance. [06/08/2002]
