According to a story in PR Week, government officials have unveiled the new $50 dollar bill, as well a new visitors center at the facility where it will first be printed. This is part of the ongoing $55mm public relations campaign to introduce the country's new currency. The visitor's center is located at the Western Currency Facility in Ft. Worth, Texas, the only place outside Washington DC that prints US money. With federal deficits at record levels, due to things like $55mm PR campaigns for paper money, the Currency Facility will be working overtime to keep up with the demand for its bill. But tourists be warned: The visitor's center is booked solid 'til the end of May with pesky school-group tours. [05/17/2004]
