Oregon Caveman ignited on 4th of July
The caveman statue that has guarded the entrance to Grants Pass, Oregon since 1971 was set on fire by unknown vandals on July 4th, 2004. The 18-ft tall fiberglass rendition of a primitive man was damaged severely in the front and moderately in the back, according to local reports. The statue was created by F.A.S.T., a Wisconsin fiberglass company that specialized in sculpting absurd symbols of civic pride. [07/05/2004]
