Alaska's Wild Bill Dies; He Hated Lawyers

Tourism News

William "Wild Bill" Nelson, 67, Wasilla, Alaska, passed away in a nursing home on Dec. 25. From tipster Philip Deslippe: "The world has tragically lost one of its 'crazy home owners who covered his property with tons of signs denouncing the 'govment'.'"

Wild Bill was known in the region as a colorful opponent of blood-sucking, double-crossing lawyers; he would circle Alaska courthouses in sign-covered vans, trailers, and even a double-decker bus, demanding death for all lawyers. His property on Hyer Road, east of Wasilla near the Parks Highway, is decorated with placards, signs, and his retired protest fleet of vehicles. [12/31/2004]
