New addition to Bruce Kennedy's ever-expanding roadside giants collection: a Doggie Diner head. Bruce let us know he'd acquired this from a gentleman in a town south of Sacramento, where it had been in storage for years. Currently displayed in Bruce's commercial property in Hayward, behind two muffler men and on top of a storage shed.
The goofy 7-ft. tall dachshund in the chef's hat and bow tie was mascot of a hot dog and burger chain that operated in the San Francisco bay area from 1948-1986.
Bruce also obtained the rotation motor -- Doggie Diner heads would rotate 360 degrees.
[RoadsideAmerica.com Team, 03/23/2015]A Muffler Man, classic roadside giant, with the head of a chicken and an accessory bucket. In storage from 1984 until he returned in Oct. 2007.

Movement unsurprising, since the Bell Plastics lot is increasingly crowded. At times there are two Doggie Diner Heads; currently the second one might be making appearances elsewhere. The statue cluster guarantees there's always something to see, though!
