- On Hwy 82, N of hwy 14. past Country Club, go up hill. On downslope, watch for a paved Autauga County Road 47/Indian Hills Rd on the left. Crosses are just ahead, on both sides of road.
Stopped by on a Saturday afternoon to check the place out. The Cross Garden still looks to be going strong after Rice's death. It was much larger than I was anticipating, very impressive, although apparently everyone is going to hell for fornicating... so claims a washing machine, anyway.
A large hand-painted sign declares the Garden for sale for $25 million.
[Jeanie, 07/10/2007]We went on a Sunday morning and heard a man chanting, "Save the World, Spread the Word" from behind the house repeatedly. Highlights of this display include: washing machines, AC units, many crosses, wooden signs, and a car all with the Lord's word painted on them. The rocks with red paint on them that line his property add to the effect...
If you get lost, stop at any of the nearby gas stations. Note: the locals don't think of it as a "garden."
[Heather and Eric, 05/04/2007]This metal horse sculpture is made up of kitchen utensils such a forks, spoons, toaster, washing machine, door bell, car fender, kitchen sink and many more items! Supposed to have hair from an old lady's chin on the horse's chin.
