Phone: 603-547-6421 - Greenfield, New Hampshire - Yankee Siege Catapult Yankee Siege is a 40,000 lb. working catapult in Greenfield, New Hampshire. It stands over a 100 feet tall and is designed to work exactly as ancient catapults did, and is capable of throwing 250 lbs.
The artist who first conceived it has an entire medieval backdrop that is constantly growing. Yankee Siege is currently surrounded by an actual moat, and a large metal castle on the hill which the catapult pitches pumpkins against every weekend in the fall! The Trojan Horse is also located across the street. I stumbled upon this quite by accident and was immediately riveted. One of the most fascinating and skilled replications I have ever seen. I am looking forward to returning in October to see the catapult in action!! [Marlene Leach, 07/29/2007]
