Amazing work of fiberglass artist Mark Cline. Between his creations and having a "Bigfoot Shootout" using water guns, this place is a fun-filled stop. When my wife and I stopped here, we didn't know what to expect. After seeing what was here, Dinosaur Kingdom II proved to be a place we would visit again when in Natural Bridge.

[Meghan, 07/10/2023]The goofy Viking that used to be outside of Mark Cline's Enchanted Castle Studios, which was cast from a mold made from the Johnny Appleseed statue in New Market, has been refurbed and moved to Halcyon Days Cider -- minus the Viking horns, and back to wearing a saucepan for a hat.

Mark Cline's Haunted Monster Museum burned down ten years ago, a decade after the attraction it replaced, the Enchanted Castle (which was just up the road), also burned down. Mark enjoyed fashioning monsters out of fiberglass, but suspected that some of his Virginia neighbors weren't happy about it.
The Museum, built inside a real 1890s manor set in the woods, was not open at night, because it was already so scary in the daytime. Walking through someone's real house - musty, dark, and dank - filled with weird Cline creatures (such as "Elvis-stein" in the kitchen) was far more frightening than the usual haunted house populated with gum-clicking teens accessorized with fake blood.
Mark Cline shrugged off the fire, salvaged what he could, and is still making monsters today.

This is truly a feat of man and worth even a large detour to see. You have the Civil War, dinosaurs, mythological beasts, monsters, blobs, and an epic water gun fight with Bigfoot. Tack on an old west town, trails, AR and a maze, and you still can't imagine how awesome this is. Do it!
