We stayed at the Steve Alford All-American Inn, a basketball-themed motel created by a former high school teammate of Alford's. There is sports memorabilia in the lobby, from team jerseys and basketballs to an electronic scoreboard looming over the coffee nook. Guests can even shoot hoops in the parking lot. The fiberglass basketball sneaker is big, perhaps minivan-sized, but not as huge as it appears in some photos.
