Doggie Diner Heads
San Francisco, California
Spurred by the news of a Doggie Diner disaster, we tried to find as many extant Doggie Diner heads as we could. Best of the remaining heads can be seen [on Treasure Island]. John Law had collected three of them, and when not in a parade, or at Burning Man, they could be seen by passersby, in his Emeryville neighborhood. As of 2012, they supposedly spend most of their time on Treasure Island.
We've also been told that there's a Doggie Diner head at Streetlights Record store in San Jose; one outside the tasting room at Vino Noceto Winery in Plymouth, CA; and one at an Anderson Valley, CA, ranch named Sheep Dung Estates.
In January 2005, a restored Doggie Diner head was added to the median strip of Sloat Boulevard near Ocean Beach in San Francisco.
