The Rhinelander Chamber of Commerce, still at the forefront of monster marketing, has unveiled its own copyrighted and trademarked Hodag statue on the front lawn of its building.
Larger than life, with features softened to be more friendly than fearsome, it represents a considerable civic investment and one that we hope other monster-besieged towns will imitate -- even if this Hodag does look more like a misunderstood, ugly-yet-lovable beast from a Disney film, rather than something that you'd blow up with dynamite.
