Dead Animals on Display

This is one of the latest in a series of oversized Bass Pro Shops "Outdoor World" stores across the country. We've seen even larger examples, stocked with more elaborate and numerous dead animal displays, but this one does have a nice tableau of battling moose, and another of a travel trailer under siege by naughty bears.
This is probably also the only sporting goods store in America that opens directly into a casino. It's just past a dramatic waterfall and fake stream.
A Bass Pro plus: cameras are allowed. Guns, however, are immobilized with trigger locks before armed customers can enter and shop.
Sadly for us, the Silverton Hotel-Casino replaced its free underwater mermaid show a few years ago with an aquarium full of fish, when Bass Pro moved in. Now there are no regular mermaid shows in Las Vegas.
