Birthplace of Andy Williams
Wall Lake, Iowa
Andy is perhaps best known as the crooner of "Moon River," a favorite of Nelson Muntz of The Simpsons. He was born in this house in 1928, as was his mom. Andy was the youngest of the four singing Williams Brothers, but none of the other three achieved anywhere near the fame of Andy. He was the Michael Jackson of his era, kind of.
The house languished in obscurity until 1992, when it was purchased by the local historical society and slowly restored to an approximation of the way that Andy would have remembered it as a kid. (The Williams family moved to Des Moines when Andy was six.) It's furnished with items "typical of that era," but not specific to Andy.
Those who dig Andy's medium sound might also want to visit the birthplace of Lawrence Welk.
