JFK Assassination House: Tours
Irving, Texas
There are two Oswald houses in Texas connected with the assassination of President Kennedy; this is the most famous of the two. It was the house where Oswald's wife and children lived with its sympathetic owners while Oswald worked at the Texas School Book Depository and lived in another house; he only came here on weekends. That changed on Thursday, November 21, 1963, when Oswald uncharacteristically spent the night here instead -- then left the next morning with a long package he retrieved from the garage (he said it was curtain rods).
The house remained a drive-by attraction for 50 years, until in 2013 it was restored to its 1963 appearance and opened to the public for tours. Actors portray Oswald, his wife, and the homeowners in "projected vignettes" within the house.
