A tavern was once across the road, and a drunk shot off Babe's balls in the '50s. The same gun was used in a murder a week later. Babe's balls were never replaced.
July 8, 2006: According to tipster Cheryl Jaworowski, "Paul Bunyan and Babe the
Blue Ox have been moved from Lookout Hill to the Southwest corner of US 23 and Nicholson Hill Road in Ossineke, Sanborn Township. Paul was lifted by crane today onto a flatbed trailer, lying on his back and fully intact. Babe was moved to the same new location in June. Sanborn Township has plans for a roadside park."
