Paul Bunyan (Bunyon) Statue

Field review by the editors.

Placerville, California

A homemade statue of Paul Bunyan, the mythical woodsman, attracts customers to various small businesses along Paul Bunyon Rd. The metal giant is about 11 feet tall, slender and on a slight tilt in the yard in front of a store selling "Reclaimed Wood Products." The statue is well weather-beaten, with left arm dangling off the shoulder and the hand missing. Perhaps he even sported a beard before a particularly tough Sierra Nevada winter.

Not sure why the spelling is with an "o" in Bunyan, but it's consistently that on the road and business signs.
