Original Monster Truck
Pacific, Missouri
"It's in the garage!" we were told by an excited family, leaning out their car windows, as we pulled into the Bigfoot 4x4 parking lot. For a sizable number of Americans, "Bigfoot" does not mean a hairy bipedal humanoid. It means a pickup truck outfitted with obscenely large tires. The first one ever was built at Bigfoot 4x4, and that truck was in one of the garage bays during our visit.
We were still more impressed by Bigfoot No. 5 -- the world's tallest, widest, and heaviest pickup truck -- displayed on an outdoor, fenced-in knoll along with Bigfoot Fastrax, a rainbow-hued minivan outfitted with tank treads.
Bigfoot 4x4 also has a gift shop, which sells the expected Bigfoot beverage koozies, big foam fingers, caps, toys, t-shirts -- and an unexpected Bigfoot wallpaper border, perfect for the bedroom.
