Mutiny Bay Golf

Field review by the editors.

North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

The most elaborate of Myrtle Beach's several pirate-themed mini-golf attractions, with perhaps the most excessively blue water of any Myrtle Beach mini-golf course.

Out front, a weather-beaten pirate ship with tattered sails -- the Jolly Roger -- floats in a man-made lagoon. Every half-hour a voice booms, "Hoist the Jolly Roger!" and the ship exchanges cannonades (of water) with the Caribbean fortress on shore, which eventually explodes in a big fireball.

Golfers try to focus on putting throughout the bombardment. The pirates always win, yay!
