For some reason we had this photo labeled as "Jaunty Jake," but his official name seems to be "Tuxedo Man" or "Struttin Man." The locally familiar mascot of Gates BBQ wears a top hat and tuxedo, while carrying a bag of Gates barbecue for good eats at home.
Gates has been known for its barbecue sauce since 1946, and the restaurant chain has other locations in the region, but this may be the only one with a statue of the Man, whatever his name may be.
