Shorty was a burro, and the beloved town mooch of Fairplay, CO. Bum was his dog pal. When Shorty died and was buried on the courthouse lawn, Bum was grief-stricken. He lay down on Shorty's grave and refused to move or eat until he died as well. Shorty was then dug up, and Bum was laid to rest alongside his friend.

Directions:
On Hwy 9/Main St., just west of 5th St., on the edge of the courthouse lawn. Bum's little monument is next to a much larger monument for a much less important human.
