American Freedom Museum
Bullard, Texas
Housed on the campus of a Christian prep school, this is a well-financed museum that opened in May 2010. American Freedom, an abstract concept, is defined here through items associated with Presidents and war. Sit inside a C-47 transport plane: you're a D-Day paratrooper! See a lock of George Washington's hair and a knife and fork used by Adolf Hitler! Visitors are invited to count the bullet holes in an American helicopter from Vietnam. The timeline ends with a War on Terror Gallery featuring a uniform of an American soldier killed in Afghanistan and rubble from Ground Zero.
