JFK Memorial Tree
Brooklyn, New York
According to an engraved granite slab at the base of this tree, it was planted by the Brooklyn Borough president in December 1963, only two weeks after JFK was assassinated. The relatively small size of the tree leads to a suspicion that it is, in fact, JFK Memorial Tree 2.0, or maybe even 3.0. It isn't trimmed to resemble JFK's profile, or hung with Kennedy ornaments at Christmastime. It's just a tree.
