The Swimmer.

Missing Link Swimmer Statue (Gone)

Field review by the editors.

Wall Township, New Jersey

There are limitations to chainsaw art, but whoever carved this swimmer seems to have been channeling an inner Bigfoot sculptor. Any human being with this physique would be breaking cinder blocks with his head, not smoothly sliding through water. The arms appear to have been grafted from a gorilla.

And yet the creator of this beefy throwback has had the last laugh. When Superstorm Sandy walloped this part of the Jersey Shore in 2012, entire buildings collapsed -- but the Missing Link Swimmer Statue snarled face-first into the hurricane and survived, apparently no worse for wear.
