Honey, Where's My Metro Pass?
Pagedale, Missouri
Sculpted by artists Nick Lang and Thad Duhigg, as well as local students, it's a giant set of keys, lip balm, coins, and a crumpled receipt -- the things you find in your pockets or purse or backpack while looking for your Metro pass. It was installed in 2010 at a MetroLink station in Pagedale (light rail and bus) as part of an ambitious plan (still incomplete) to put public art at each stop as a way to instill pride and convince people not to trash or vandalize the stations. The artwork seemed in okay shape when we stopped by, so apparently the theory is working.
