Dive Bar: Mermaids and Mermen

Dive Bar opened in 2010. It's narrow, not that big, and otherwise indistinguishable from countless other trendy city bars -- except for the 7,500 gallon fish tank above the bar filled with tropical fish and, often, a mer-person or two. In a commendable nod to equality, Dive Bar features both mermaids and mermen in the tank, although the mermaids still receive most of the attention. Dive Bar has thoughtfully lined the wall opposite the tank with mirrors to increase mermaid/merman visibility for its clientele.

Directions:: Downtown. On the south side of K St. between 10th and 11th Sts, across the street from the Crest Theatre. It's a bar, so if you want unobstructed mermaid watching, you might want to arrive and leave early.
