Temple of Stones - Nudge a Stonehenge
Bellevue, Washington
Artist John Young built Temple of the Stones in 2006. It's a mini-Stonehenge-like circle, except that its multi-ton boulders aren't stuck into the ground -- they dangle from a steel framework. The big rocks are well-tethered to prevent anyone from turning the artwork into a giant desktop ball clicker, but you can still move them a little with your hands. Visitors are encouraged to pay more attention to the rock table in the center, where they can sit and socialize encircled by giant, apparently levitating boulders.
