Will B. Rolling.

30-Foot-Tall Old Fashioned Bicyclist

Field review by the editors.

Port Byron, Illinois

A 30-ft. tall statue of an old-timey bicyclist (on a Penny Farthing) stands along the Mississippi River, in downtown Port Byron. Installed in 2013, the fiberglass sculpture was manufactured by F.A.S.T. and is cast from the same mold as the giant bicyclist, "Ben Bikin'," in Sparta, Wisconsin. Port Byron's giant is named Will B. Rolling.

The $60,000 statue was funded and donated by Port Byron's former mayor, who hopes to start a yearly bike ride event that will span the distance between Port Byron and Sparta.

Port Byron is the eastern side of an annual tug-of-war, Tug Fest, by teams on both shores of the Mississippi River.
