Cadillac Ranch Tribute Made of Yugos (Gone)
Middletown, Connecticut
In 2012 "Wild Bill" Ziegler opened up one of the buildings on his sprawling Nostalgia Center property as an artists' studio. One day in 2013 artists Joe McCarthy and Peter Albano were walking around, admiring Wild Bill's vast collection of junk, when they noticed three rusting Yugos: one red, one white, one blue. Inspired, they figured out how to balance the cars on their noses atop fiberglass beach balls, and unveiled the work of public art on the property in the late Spring of 2014. They titled it, "I'd Go Where Yugo Stanley Marsh 3," in honor of the late Mr. 3, who sponsored the famous Cadillac Ranch in Texas, which features Cadillacs buried in the ground -- on their noses.
