Big Walk-In Gator Mouth

Field review by the editors.

Biloxi, Mississippi

Probably inspired by the giant walk-in alligator mouth at Gatorland in Florida, the Souvenir City gift shop built a nearly identical toothy giant gator on the front of the building. It was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina in 2005, as was a similar giant shark mouth owned by the same gift shop conglomerate just down the street.

Refusing to bow to adversity or Climate Change, Souvenir City rebuilt, and reopened in 2009 with an even bigger (and, we'd guess, stronger) walk-in gator mouth. The giant shark was rebuilt in 2012.
