Loon statue.

13-Foot-Long Loon

Field review by the editors.

Lincoln, Maine

Made of fiberglass, six feet tall with big red eyes. Unveiled in October 2016. Lincoln calls itself "The Town of Lakes" -- 13 of them -- and the loon is sculpted as if floating on one, although it's really just resting on a bed of wood chips.

The Lincoln Loon is the largest on the East Coast, but it's a pipsqueak compared to Midwest mega-loons in Minnesota and Wisconsin.
