In 2004, driving through Bedford, Indiana, we spotted limestone sculptures of midget cars and drivers along the road. One was labeled "Mel Kenyon," AKA "King of the Midgets," a legendary champion in the niche field of midget auto racing.

The sculptures were gone a few years later, after the Auto and Race Car Museum closed. Wonder where they sped off to...
